About the Animal Helper Guide
The knowledge hub of the animal welfare charity Save Our Animals – for everyone who helps animals.
Save Our Animals is a non-profit animal welfare association based in Reichraming, Upper Austria. Our principle: we help the helpers. Rather than building new structures, we support the people and organisations already rescuing animals in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Türkiye – with funding for food, vet care and neutering, with organisation and with reach.
The Animal Helper Guide is our contribution to every other helper: pet owners, foster carers and anyone who finds an injured animal. Here you'll find what matters when it counts – short, clear and backed by sources.
How we work
- Answer first. Every article starts with what you should do right now.
- Evidence, not opinion. Our medical content draws on veterinary universities, professional bodies and official authorities. Sources are listed under every article.
- Veterinary review. Health articles are reviewed by a vet before publication; their name and the date appear on the article.
- Up to date. The “Last reviewed” date only changes when we have genuinely reviewed the content.
- Independent. No paid product recommendations, no advertising.
- Three languages. All content is available in German, English and Turkish – written for each language, not translated word for word.
